Peter joined Norton Financial Services in 1989, became a partner in 1997, and was named President of the firm in 2005. In 2016, Norton Financial sold to HUB International New England where Peter serves as Principal and Managing Director and continues his advocacy on behalf of his clientele.
Peter’s areas of discipline are employee benefits and retirement plan consulting. Peter holds his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) certification. He is a member of the Profit Sharing Council of America (PSCA) as well as the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA)
Peter has served on the key broker councils for each Anthem, Aetna, and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare. He was one of the founding members of the Maine Health Purchasing Collaborative, the predecessor to the Maine Health Purchasing Alliance. He has also served as the state Legislative Chair for the Maine Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (MAIFA). He is also a member of the Commonwealth Financial Network’s Retirement Advisory Council.
Peter holds both a broker and consulting license from the Maine Bureau of Insurance. He is appointed with more than 30 insurance carriers and is licensed in multiple states. Additionally, he holds his FINRA series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities licenses and his AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) certification. He is registered as a Securities Principal and offers securities as a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, a Registered Investment Adviser.
Peter previously served on the board of The Mitchell Institute, the Maine College of Art and the Pine Tree Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Maine Central Institute, and is an alumnus of the Iota class of the Institute for Civic Leadership.
